Wonderful Parties in Welwyn

Wonderful parties in Welwyn

So why did I have a wonderful party in Welwyn. Kemi was there, that’s why. Kemi is a party organiser. I think you need to live in Welwyn and be her friend, but please do search her out.

When I arrived for last weeks birthday party at the Ludwick Centre, Welwyn I admit, my heart sank a little. Firstly Welwyn Garden City  was very wet. The kind of rain that makes you shiver. The hall for the party was huge. Half the hall was filled with the largest bouncy castle I have ever seen. The other half was for me and the party food. Now, ask any children’s entertainer, and they will tell you that bouncy castles, children’s entertainers and magic shows  don’t mix very well. This is where Kemi fitted in.

Paws Patrol in Welwyn

Firstly she decorated the hall. Our birthday boy had chosen a Paws Patrol theme. There was a Paws Patrol Cake, Paws Patrol  paper plates and Paw Patrol Balloons. I helped out with my first Chase balloon. It was not the best I have seen on the internet but not a bad attempt.

The genius came in the timing. As a children’s entertainer I couldn’t have asked for  better.

The children arrived and played for a few minutes with a big balloon ball I had made. We had a great magic show with the children all happily placed on a large foam mat in front of me. The children had their party tea, and then and only then, was the monster sized bouncy castle put up.

I made balloons for the children catching their breath then packed up to leave. As I was leaving the candyfloss man arrived with a popcorn cart and candy floss machine. The children ( and parents) were in heaven. What a lovely way to finish a party.

Easy Fundraising Ideas

Easy fundraising  for your school with Auntie Julie

Would you like an easy fundraising idea?

Are your children too young for a traditional ‘school disco’?

Please read on.

Did you get an email today from Auntie Julie?

If you did you will now have a nice hot cup of coffee and a pile of chocolate digestives.

Easy fundraising
Enjoy

So what is the big idea?

It is very simple.

Book a party for your school with Auntie Julie. Invite  your nursery class and KS1 and make some easy money for the school.

In return Auntie Julie will give you 1 1/2 hours of entertainment. That’s a 45 minute magic show and a mini disco with party dances and games. I suggest a 10 minute break in the middle when the noise level can drop and the children have a snack.

So what’s the catch?

Sorry, but it is not free.

My charge for this fundraising event is simply £2 per head with a minimum of 50 children.

How much can you make for you school?

If you were to charge, say, £5 a head including snacks your school can make £100 per 50 children attending.

The dreaded terms and conditions

This event has to take place before the end of June 2018. It can either be during the school day or any day after school ( no weekends, sorry.)

This has to be a school fundraising event and not a private party.

The children must be suitably supervised and I  would suggest a maximum of 150 children per session

The show is suitable for children from 3-8 but I’m happy to have children younger and older children if properly supervised.

I ask for a £50 deposit when booking with the remaining money given within 7 days of the event.

I ask that after the show all the nursery and KS1 are given an Auntie Julie postcard for their book bags.

The Bushey Centre, Watford – Troll Party

The Bushey Centre, Watford – Troll Party

On Sunday I was back at The Bushey Centre in Watford. I say Watford, it’s actually just up Bushey High Road on the same complex at the Bushey Country Club and Bushey Golf Centre. There is also the Watford Car Wash unit in the back car park.

I’ve got to say that I have never seen so many little Trolls in Watford, or anywhere else. About half the guests had perfect troll costumes on, including pink hair pieces. My favourite costume, though came from an older cousin. She came as Gangster Granny. The children looked fantastic. It made learning the children’s names extra difficult. I heard one of the mums say, ‘I bet she can’t learn them all.’ Always up for a challenge, I think I got the first 20 children as they arrived and got to know the rest at the party and magic show progressed. My birthday girl was adorable and very bit a pink Troll. I even made my first Troll balloon for her. As she was a fan of balloons she also went home with a zebra, parrot and octopus.

The Blanket Game

After tea we did some party dances and circus skills. We even had time at the end for the blanket game where I hide a child under the blanket and the other guests have to guess who is under there. Everyone wants a turn so at the end I get at many children as I can underneath so that no one misses out.

Netmum Reviews

We all know how important good reviews are, especially on popular websites such as Netmums. This party mum was kind enough to say this;

Auntie Julie was brilliant for my 4-year old’s birthday party – she kept the 25 kids thoroughly entertained, with some mums saying that their child had joined in the fun for the first time ever, having never done so previously! Would definitely recommend Auntie Julie – she was a real pleasure to deal with and extremely punctual.

Time to book your Children’s Birthday Party in Watford Pinner and Harrow

It is time to book your Children’s Birthday Party in Watford Pinner and Harrow

Whether you are in Watford, Harrow, Pinner or actually anywhere near by it is time to book your child’s birthday party.

As soon as the schools go back and the Christmas Tree has been put away, it is time to start thinking about the next birthday party on the calendar. You have to choose your party date, the party venue and find the best party Children’s Entertainer. There are so many to choose from so how do you find the best Entertainer for your child.

Ask you child what parties they have enjoyed. There is no point booking a soft play party if your child doesn’t like rough and tumble. Equally if you child doesn’t like to sit still for long then craft or cookery parties may not be for you.

Traditional Children’s Magic Show

I am biased of course but I don’t think you can go wrong with a traditional children’s entertainer – especially Auntie Julie!

I cover a large area and will travel anywhere, but I mostly work in  Watford, Harrow and Pinner.

Let’s look at the date of your party. If your date is set in stone then you may not get the entertainer you really want, so be flexible. It doesn’t matter to the birthday boy or girl if the party is a week either side of their actual birthday. The party day is what is important to them. Again, with the party venue, check out a few to give yourself the most options.

Party Options

Now lets look at the options for the entertainment.

Most parties are two hours long, so book your hall for three hours to give you half an hour either side to set up, then tidy up.

Usually the entertainer is booked for two hours. The party starts with some disco music so the birthday  party children can arrive and dance or play with their friends. A warm up game will get the children bonded and working together. Then it is show time. Everyone,  including the grown-ups sit down and enjoy a magic show with singing, dancing, puppets and balloons. There is something for everyone. No one will be sitting still for long. There are plenty of opportunities for children to get up and take part. At the end of the show it is tea or lunch time. This gives everyone a 20 minute break for food and Auntie Julie a chance to get ready for the circus games in the second half of the party.

So after singing happy birthday and taking photos it’s straight back on the dance floor with some party dances. Once everyone is ready the circus games come out and we play with spinning plates, ribbons and cup and balls. Before you know it there are just a few minutes of the birthday party left and everyone is given a balloon to go home with. We then say our thank you’s and the children can go home with any party bags or cake on the way out.

Organising your party

It is amazing how quickly a birthday party can go when you are organised. If you look here you will find my book ‘The secrets to a stress free party’ This book is full of hints and tips to make your birthday child’s party go with a swing and leave you king or queen of the playground for the next week. The mark of a good birthday party is the positive feedback in the playground.
